“Whatever it takes.”
Dagum… that’s a tough one.
It’s easy to say. It’s even easy to live by when everything is going your way and the path ahead is smooth. But the true meaning of whatever it takes isn’t revealed in the easy moments—it’s revealed in the hard ones.
It’s in those moments of adversity that you have to look deep within yourself and decide if you’re truly willing to do whatever it takes.
The easy road rarely seems to cost much in the moment, but in the end, it can cost you the most. What did you sacrifice for comfort? What moral code or core value did you compromise just to avoid hardship? And what kind of person did you miss the opportunity to become?
Growth rarely comes from comfort. Adversity, struggle, and sacrifice have a way of stretching us, strengthening us, and revealing who we really are. The challenges we often wish would disappear are frequently the very things that prepare us for what’s ahead.
So when you say, “Whatever it takes,” don’t just mean it when it’s convenient. Mean it when it’s difficult. Mean it when it hurts. Mean it when no one is watching.
Because that’s when those words become more than a slogan—they become a way of life.
