🏈 MEET THE COACHES | COACH COREY THOMAS 🏈
New to the Nest. Big heart. Big purpose. 🦅💚🖤
Today, we're excited to introduce Coach Corey Thomas, who is beginning his first year at South Walton High School as our Running Backs Coach!
Coach Thomas brings 13 years of coaching experience with him to the Seahawk family. Before making his way to South Walton, he coached at CAK in Knoxville, Tennessee.
But if you ask Coach Thomas what coaching is really about, his answer has very little to do with football.
“I want to build and prepare young men to be better men on and off the field. I want them to know that I love them for who they are, and not for what they do on the football field.”

For Coach Thomas, the game is a tool—but the real mission is building young men who are strong in character, faith, leadership, toughness, family, and love.
He wants his players to know that his investment in them doesn't end when the final whistle blows. Whether it's during football season or years down the road, Coach Thomas wants his players to know they will always have someone in their corner.
And it didn't take him long to discover what being a Seahawk is all about.
“FAMILY!!! Since I've been here, everyone I have come in contact with has treated my family and me like they've known us forever.”
🦅 That's the Nest. That's the culture. That's FAMILY.
Coach Thomas is thankful for the parents who trust him with their children and for the opportunity to pour into the young men he coaches. He's also excited to be surrounded by a coaching staff that genuinely cares about its players and is willing to chase greatness together.
When he's not on the football field, Coach Thomas loves spending time with his wonderful wife, Kiley, and their daughter, Knoxlie. Creating memories and new experiences with his family means everything to him.
And if you can't find him with his family or on the football field, there's a good chance he's somewhere around something with a motor—especially motorcycle racing! 🏍️💨
One saying has stayed with Coach Thomas throughout his coaching journey. It came from the last head coach he worked for, who ended meetings, emails, and conversations with the same powerful reminder:
“THE BEST IS YET TO COME.”
And Coach Thomas is ready to bring that mindset to South Walton.
