A Heartfelt Welcome Back to School❤️🚌

Dear Bay Families,

As we are preparing to welcome our students back to school tomorrow, I want to take a moment to reach out to each of you. The past several days has brought challenges that none of us could have anticipated. My heart goes out to every family and community member who has been impacted by the hurricane. Our hearts are with each of you as we navigate the challenges of this difficult time together. Although our school sustained damage during the storm, dedicated staff and district personnel have been working around the clock to prepare for the return of our students. There has been an incredible amount of work taking place behind the scenes to ensure that we are ready to open our doors tomorrow morning. We are committed to making our school a safe and welcoming place where our children can return to the routines and familiar faces they know and love. As students return, you may notice changes throughout our campus as minor repairs and restoration efforts continue. Some areas may look a little different, and certain routines or spaces may need to be temporarily adjusted. We ask for your continued patience and understanding as we navigate these changes together. Please know that every decision we make is guided by our commitment to the safety and well-being of our students and staff. We understand that many in our community are still facing challenges as a result of the hurricane. We also recognize that our youngest learners may not fully understand everything that has happened.

Our goal is to welcome them back with open arms and provide the comfort and reassurance they need. We want every child to feel safe and loved as they return to school.

Thank you for the trust you place in us each day. Thank you for your continued support and for being part of a school family, that means so much to all of us. As we move forward, please know that we are here for you.

We cannot wait to welcome our little ones back tomorrow!

With heartfelt appreciation,
Jennifer Nick, Ed. S.

ALL Students and Staff - classes and activities will resume on Wednesday, October 14, 2026.

All Walton County School District campuses will be closed Thursday, October 8, and Friday, October 9, due to anticipated impacts from Isaias. This closure applies to all extracurricular activities such as athletic games, practices, and club meetings.

The safety of our students, staff, and families remains our highest priority. These closures will allow families time to prepare and follow guidance from Walton County Emergency Management.

Future updates and announcements will be available on District social media channels as well as our website.

The Walton County School District, in coordination with Walton County Emergency Management and state weather officials, is closely monitoring weather conditions in the Gulf.

We encourage families, staff, and community members to continue monitoring District social media channels and the WCSD website for updates as additional information becomes available.

⭐️ Happy Custodian Appreciation Day ⭐️

💙 Today we are celebrating two very special people who help keep our school clean, safe, and ready for learning each and every day; our Plant Manager, Mr. Greg and our Custodian, Ms. Vanessa!

🧹 They do so much behind the scenes to take care of our classrooms, hallways, playground spaces, and our entire school. Their hard work and dedication make a difference every single day, and we are so thankful for all they do for our students and staff.

🎉 Please help us give a BIG preschool thank you to Mr. Greg and Ms. Vanessa! We appreciate you more than you know!
