Morning Parents,

Now that I have been receiving emails, questions, and other information regarding coronavirus, I have decided to share some information as to the potentiality of temporarily closing The Sego Bunch Family Childcare..

Since I am licensed, I first have to follow any rules the state provides as far as closing, reporting sickness, sanitizing, and so on. As of the time of this writing, the state has NOT recommended that home daycares need to shut down; however, this could happen due to so many school districts extending spring vacation. At this time, I plan to remain open. (Spring Break Vacation closure 4/11-4/19 is still in effect)This does not mean that I won't get an unexpected call or email which will require me to close temporarily. For now, I assume that state licensing is leaving that decision to the discretion of the provider.

Since my home daycare is large, and the children are young and fairly resistant to the virus, I see no immediate reason to shut down. However, if your child has fever, coughing, or other symptoms that are not obvious allergies, they will be sent home. This is to protect everyone, including your other family members who may have compromised immune symptoms, are elderly, or are, for any reason, at a higher risk of severe complications from contracting the virus. As always, If your children are sick, they should spend time recovering at home with individual attention that I cannot provide in daycare. If my children do get sick, or Gil or I have symptoms, we will close until we are fully recovered.

Again, I will stay open unless my own family is sick, in an effort to keep it contained and not spread to your families.

Please continue to wash hands, keep sick children home, make me aware of new symptoms, and your personal situations with employers and working from home, etc. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we all cope with the uncertainty of this situation.
