Marketing is fishing.
And most businesses are fishing blind.
Here’s the framework:
1. Pick your fish.
Get specific about the client you actually want.
Different fish live in different waters.
2. Find where they feed.
Your ideal client has places they already spend their attention.
Go there.
3. Use the right bait.
Your offer has to be visible, relevant, and desirable to them.
Not to everyone.
To them.
4. Learn to read the bite.
Interest isn’t the same as commitment.
Watch the signals.
Ask questions.
Listen.
5. Don’t reel too fast.
A prospect shows interest and suddenly you start pushing, pitching, discounting, and closing.
Pull too hard and the line breaks.
Targeting gets you into the right water.
Positioning gets their attention.
Sales is knowing when to pull—and when to wait.
Are you trying to improve your fishing technique before deciding what fish you actually want?
