Let's Do Art

Just finished teaching this very fun butterfly project, via Zoom, that entails symmetry, line, contour, and color!! These very creative, talented 6-7 year old artists were very into it and the magic that happened when they painted only on one side, fold their paper over, press and count to 8, and watch their paint transfer to the other side, creating symmetry! Their art process was fun and focused as their own butterfly came together section by section, patiently and gradually! WOW!! Each artwork is so spectacular, unique, and oh so colorful! 🦋 We’ve got Vance, Ms. Geralyn, Devon, Kate, and Maddie!

It’s been two very fun and incredible weeks of virtual art classes and my students have made very expressive, unique, super-creative art pieces. They put a lot of focus and heart into their art. I hope you enjoy seeing their creations! These artists are ages 5-7 yrs.

First week of teaching virtually! Finally joined the Zoom room. Definitely takes some getting used to though getting the hang of it m, lesson by lesson. It was so wonderful to see my students again, though through a computer screen. I’ve been missing them so much! It’s not the same feeling of connecting in person l, though very exciting. What amazing technology to be able to connect and teach in this virtual way from their home to mine, during this very different, and sometimes surreal, way of life as we know it for now. Grateful for the opportunity to connect and for the technology to do so.

Check out these watercolor paintings of feathers by 7-9 year old artists. They worked it and worked it today in my Drawing & Painting Class!

These Japanese cherry blossoms were painted yesterday by our artists ages 4-7 yrs. at Spring Break Art Camp.
Some of their cherry blossoms are shown in full bloom, others are appearing as buds, and a few are blowing in the wind. Each artist had their own interpretation and expressed their imagination. Gotta love that!
There are lots of various painting tools that we use here at Let’s Do Art. In these paintings, they used their fingertips to paint the cherry blossoms!

We’ve been in Koala heaven for the past 3 art classes while our 9-10 year old artists, plus one brave 7 1/2 year old, learned about shape, painting tones of gray, painting to create furry texture, proportion with koala body and face parts, and giving expression. I feel that each of them did amazingly well. But more importantly, they each felt very happy with their own unique paintings. Gotta love it!
