What a night ✨

Thank you to everyone who came out for our Alumni Family Homecoming Reunion on January 9 as we celebrated 30 Years of New Roads and our milestone reunions. With alumni, alumni parents, faculty, former staff, our founding Head of School David Bryan, current Head of School Dan Vorenberg, and founding department heads Pat McCabe (Elementary School) and Chris Elder (Middle School) all in one place, the room was filled with nostalgia and that unmistakable New Roads spirit.

Having everyone back on campus, especially celebrating together on our new Sports Court, was a powerful reminder of how far we have come. Thank you for showing up to honor our shared legacy and the incredible New Roads community.

In honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day and as we reflect on 30 years of New Roads, we are reminded that the values Dr. King spoke so powerfully about have always lived at the heart of our school. New Roads’ founding vision was shaped in the wake of the Rodney King uprising and was guided by New Roads School Founder, Paul F. Cummins and Co-Founder and Founding Head of School, David Bryan. Paul’s experiences with segregation in public schools compelled him to imagine something different, “I decided to create a school that had true diversity at its core mission. I wanted to bring together children from all racial, ethnic, economic, cultural, and national backgrounds to study together, learn to respect one another, and value and celebrate diversity.” David Bryan shares, “One thing remains as it has been since 1995 is New Roads students’ remain the brightest, most creative, intellectually curious, diverse, and kind people ever to have graduated.”
