When the Santa Monica airport closes in 2 years, what should grow there? Join SAMO Fund on August 8 for a guided walk through the future park site, a visit to the onsite demonstration gardens, and presentation from ecologists and community leaders working at the intersection of ecology, design, and public space. Together, you’ll explore how plant choices influence biodiversity, water use, climate resilience, habitat creation, and the long-term character of a landscape. Last night's LA MODE catwalk was amazing, as usual. The student's designs always have a strong consideration of sustainability in everything they produce, thanks to the wonderful faculty in SMC's Fashion Department, who teach students the realities of the industry and how to do it better.

The Westside Repair Café is coming to Santa Monica on June 7 at the Thelma Terry Building in Virginia Avenue Park.

The Repair Café is still looking for additional volunteers to help with the event. They are accepting volunteers for repair stations at all skill levels and non-repair volunteers.
