🎨✨ Franklin CREST Club got creative with some awesome tape art!

Students explored their artistic side by transforming simple lines into unique shapes, stretching their imagination every step of the way. From bold designs to playful patterns, they even experimented with negative space to make their artwork pop!

It’s amazing what a little tape—and a lot of creativity—can do! 💡🖌️

🌸 Spring has sprung at SMASH CREST Club! Our Afterschool Program kids have been busy exploring, creating, and learning:

🦋 Kicking off the first day of spring with beautiful butterfly crafts!
🍦 Shaking things up with “ice cream in a bag,” learning science while making a tasty treat.
🎨 Ending the day weaving colorful dream catchers, beads, and feathers into one-of-a-kind creations.

From hands-on science to arts and crafts, our CREST kids are having a blast staying active, creative, and curious all month long! 🌟

☀️ Fun in the sun at Jocelyn Park! Our SMASH CREST Club kids spent the afternoon exploring the park, playing games, and enjoying the sunshine together. From climbing and running to creative play, our participants had a blast building friendships and staying active in a safe, supervised environment. It was the perfect mix of fun, fresh air, and after school adventure!🌻

McKinley CREST Club has been on a roll this month! ☘️💃

Our crew packed in the fun with a walking adventure to Douglas Park, got creative (and a little messy!) making delicious Shamrock Shakes, and even turned up the heat during an epic Salsa Challenge with Teague from our Community Gardens! 🌿🔥

🌟 At Grant CREST Club, learning about emotions is anything but boring! Our students are diving into the SELFY curriculum, discovering how to recognize and express their feelings in creative and fun ways. From games to group activities, they’re building emotional awareness while having a blast! 💡💖

Our CREST Club students at Grant had a blast turning inspiration into creativity! 🎨✨ After exploring different cup designs on the computer, students used their imaginations to design their very own unique cups. From bold colors and cool patterns to one-of-a-kind ideas, each cup reflects the creativity and personality of its designer.

It was amazing to see how a little inspiration can spark big ideas! We’re so proud of our young creators for thinking outside the box and bringing their designs to life. Way to go, CREST Club! 👏🥤

CREST Club students at Edison and Will Rogers participated in the first week of SELFY (Social Emotional Learning for Youth) Workshops led by our Manager of Youth and Community Wellness from SEWI. The SELFY curriculum, created by SEWI, is a comprehensive social and emotional learning program that enriches youth with essential tools and skills for positive identity development, healthy relationships, and enhanced mental wellbeing. The students at all 7 CREST sites will be participating in these groups for 6 weeks of activities and workshops.

Our Grant CREST Club students had an incredible visit with the Santa Monica Mounted Police! 🐴✨ They learned firsthand what it takes to be a mounted officer, including the many sides of policing, the care and training required to work with their horses, and the unique bond officers develop with their animals. Students got to see how teamwork, responsibility, and compassion play a role in both law enforcement and animal care. A big thank you to the Mounted Police for showing our campers the dedication it takes to protect and serve – on two feet and four!
