Summer 2025 Private Pilot Ground School has completed the summer semester. Santa Monica Flyers has never seen such an engaged, passionate group. We hope to see you in January for the Instrument Rating class!

March 22nd! Come witness history in the making… the launch of electric flight! Cleaner, quieter, and more efficient, this is the future of aviation, and you can be a part of it.

These aircraft are available now as a discovery flight lesson for $249 or for rental at $179/hr. Come meet our specialized Flight Instructors and see the planes in person. Saturday March 22nd from Noon to 4pm at Santa Monica Flyers.

Santa Monica Flyers’ next semester of Private Pilot AND Instrument Rating Ground School is just around the corner!

The PRIVATE PILOT program is designed for students pursuing the private pilot certificate, but those pursuing the sport pilot and already-certificated pilots can still benefit from attending for supplemental training and/or recurrent training.

The INSTRUMENT RATING program is designed for existing private pilots who are training towards the instrument rating. If you are not yet a private pilot but are nearing your private pilot checkride, you are still welcome to apply. Those who already have an instrument rating can benefit with the class as recurrent training.

Big day for the SMF family. Kosala Hemachandra Passed his PPL ride and our very own Noah Nguyen passed his as well! Huge congratulations to you both on the huge milestone. Can’t wait to see you both for the next ratings.

Atli checked off a huge milestone and passed his Private Pilot Checkride on Tuesday! We couldn’t be more proud of both you and your CFI Andrew! See you soon for that IFR training.

Jorge and Danny got back today after a 1600 mile XC trek to bring home our new Sport Cruiser. They ferried N43SC for 5 days from KSRB to its new home here at KSMO. Keep an out for it on the rental line in the next few days and come take it for a rip!

Mark your calendars for Friday October 25th! Our Halloween BBQ at the Hangar starts at 6:00pm. Bring out your best costume (or come as you are) and join in the festivities. Textron Aircraft will be there showing all all-new Cessna 206 Turbo Stationair for all to see.

It’s becoming the perfect time of year to work on your instrument rating or to regain proficiency. Come take a flight with one of our CFIi’s and get some actual IMC in the morning while enjoying clear sky’s in the afternoon.
