Thrilled that my mixed media piece, “She Was A lot Like the Ocean” has been accepted into this exhibition, juried by Lisa Bryson. It’s been a few years since applying to juried shows so this feels extra special. If you live in the San Diego area I hope you can come by!

Happy Friday! Taking a look at where these little collage pieces began. This year has been a ton of trials, experiments, things working or not and ideas yet to be finished…This piece reminds me that if i keep on trying, I can be led into a whole new concept and body of work. Art is not linear. There are periods of flow and periods of creative growth…When we want to push ourselves into different ideas and explorations. What fun! Isn’t that some of the best things about this creative life? I know I may get push back on this but a timeline for finished work is not always healthy. It seems as though we have now moved into this world of create, market, release….and sometimes the pressure of this can kill creativity and from producing our most enjoyable work. Who knew that this little painting would pull me forward into a whole new playful series?

Autumn vibes. Pushing this one way out there. This year my art has taken a bit of a backseat but these little ones keep me creative and staying close to my souls work.

Please help me with this guy a very happy birthday! I am just as amazed by you now as I was thirty one years ago when we met while celebrating your 25th birthday. Your charisma and willingness to grow and try everything and anything are some of my favorite qualities. I am so lucky that we met back at The Broadway Deli all those years ago! Happy happy birthday sweetheart.🎂🎉😄

The art process…getting lost and found. Play, experiment…trust, curiosity…it all happens when we start working. To begin with nothing and come out with something. Yippee! It’s officially my favorite season and I am all for it.
