Robert Half is a professional staffing agency that helps people find part-time or full-time job opportunities. These opportunities can be long term or temporary--which allows flexibility with your school schedule. For example, you can work temporarily in the Winter and Summer. Then, in the Spring and Fall, decide to go back to school full-time or part-time. Also, for those of you who are international students, Robert Half can help you find work if you have Optional Practical Training (OPT) status.

Prof Ming Lu recently started a Youtube channel about accounting to help SMC students. On this channel, his former students as well as other accounting professionals from top companies (i.e. the Controller of the Rams and Senior Payroll Manager of the Dodgers) share their experiences and provide advice to students.

USC is piloting a program with SMC's Business Department to help more of our underrepresented minority students get into their accounting program.

"The Ernst & Young Elements of Success conference is an annual conference that exposes underrepresented minority students to careers in accounting. This year they had about 350 applicants of which they only accepted the top 100 accounting students from around Southern California to attend. Most of the attendees selected were from 4 year universities. However, this year around 10 attendees were either current or former SMC accounting students!"

It was a packed house for the personal finance workshop on March 20th 🙌🏽 (see photos below). Please join us for the next workshop on April 5th in Business 144 from 11:15-12:35. Business professors will be covering investments and credit management. We hope to see you there!
