Bike It! Walk It! Bus It!
October 11
Become an environmental superhero by walking, biking, or taking the bus to school! Join us for Bike It! Walk It! Bus It! this Friday!
Students are encouraged to walk, bike, scooter, skate, or get dropped off a block away from school. Make it even more fun by joining one of our Walking/Biking/Scooting School Buses, departing at 8:15 AM from the following locations:
• 26th/SM Blvd
• 17th/Arizona
• 23rd/Broadway
• Arizona/Yale
Teachers will tally how students arrive at school that day.
At McKinley, we encourage walking, biking, and scooting every day!

Family Literacy Night
October 9 from 6-7pm
Join us this Wednesday for a wonderful McKinley tradition—Family Literacy Night! Held in our beautiful historic courtyard, families and students can enjoy a variety of literacy-themed activities, including creating your own book and meeting real authors. The evening will also feature the Lunch Crew, an amazing jazz ensemble made up of McKinley alumni!
Communities that read together grow together, and this evening is all about nurturing our love for reading in the McKinley family.

Vote Yes on Measure QS this November!
This school facilities bond measure will provide the funds needed to complete multiple repairs, improvements, and building projects throughout the district. Here is a list of the priority projects!
Many if not most of these projects are ready to go, some as early as December 2024. Several projects have already been designed, submitted to the state architecture agency, completed environmental review, and just await this important funding to begin.
There is a broad coalition of supporters, including our Classroom Teachers Association, parents, the Santa Monica-Malibu Council of PTAs, the League of Women Voters, local small business owners, seniors, stakeholders, the Santa Monica City Council, and the Santa Monica-Malibu School Board, all say: YES on MEASURE QS.
