Hey Guys. We're looking to start a group where we can get together a couple times a month to indulge our stomachs (everything's better when food's involved) and talk about what's on our hearts re: God and challenges to our faith, then turn around and serve the community.
Along those lines, here's the tentative game plan: the last Friday of every month we're going to head to Samoshel homeless shelter in Santa Monica and serve ice cream to the residents at the shelter. It's not a huge time commitment, but it will definitely put smiles on their faces. Then, one Monday per month, we're going to get together in Santa Monica, order good food, and walk through a video series by Donald Miller called the Open Table. The videos are 10-15 minutes, have an accompanying book, and generally serve to spur faith-based questions and discussion. I've watched some of the trailers online, and they really get me thinking about my faith...so I think it would be really cool to talk through these things together, over dinner, in true law student fashion.
