Swipe through to see hidden struggles, practical tips you can use at home, and how to support your child before challenges turn into stress.
At North Star Academics, we help families spot subtle ADHD traits, build executive functioning skills, and turn support into real results.

Regulation isn’t a behavior issue. It’s a nervous system response.
CATDC () invites educators and school communities to a two-part virtual learning series that centers neurodiversity, co-regulation, and resilience where real classroom change begins.
Facilitated by Ashley Harding (), founder of North Star Academics, this series blends neuroscience, relational practice, and practical tools you can use immediately.
You’ll explore how to:
• Support executive functioning through intentional routines.
• Recognize and respond to dysregulation with clarity and care.
• Strengthen school–family partnerships through co-regulation.
• Build emotionally safe learning environments that support all learners.

Your child watches one ADHD or autism video on TikTok… and suddenly their feed is full of more.
The algorithm keeps pushing content, and not all of it is accurate. Watching more doesn’t teach real skills — it just creates confusion, anxiety, or unrealistic expectations.
Social media can raise awareness, but it can’t teach executive functioning. Skills like focus, task initiation, organization, and emotional regulation are built through guidance, practice, and support, not swipes. That’s where real-world help matters.
Don’t let an algorithm replace support. Book a call at northstaracademics.org today to give your child evidence-based coaching and school support that actually works.

How I reduced constant arguments with my child who has ADHD using two simple tools.
(From a parent who used to be tired of the stress, tears, and nightly battles.)
This year, I finally found a way to calm our family conflicts, and let me tell you, it was a process.
There was a lot involved that I didn’t realize would be the case.
Like how quickly emotions can escalate with ADHD.
And how tone of voice can spark a bigger fight than the actual problem.
Did you know that criticism often makes things worse, not better? Yes, neither did I!
And truth bomb coming. I made some mistakes.
I matched my child’s yelling with my own. I punished instead of teaching calmer responses. I forgot my child needed space to reset, to name a few…
But let me tell you, all that work, trial, and error paid off.
SO… how did I do it?
