Real UDL isn’t another initiative. It’s the small decisions we make every day that help more students succeed.
The biggest shift in my teaching came from changing one question.
Instead of asking:
❌ What’s wrong?
❌ Why aren’t they doing it?
I started asking:
✅ What helps you learn?
Students know more about themselves than we sometimes give them credit for. They may not always have the words yet…but when we give them the opportunity to reflect, amazing things happen.
That’s exactly why I created my Accommodation Discovery Tool.
It’s designed to help students identify the supports, environments, and strategies that genuinely help them learn so those conversations can start long before an IEP meeting.
Sometimes one better question changes everything.
I’ve always believed reflection shouldn’t feel intimidating. Sometimes all we need is one good question to get started.
