We're excited to share our work with you all in new ways in the coming weeks as promised ✨

In a new video by MLCOL we take an in depth look at the inspiration behind the Whitman on Walls! New Mexico project, where artists of all ages came together, using art to illuminate big ideas.

Artistic expression is a cornerstone at the Academy for the Love of Learning, and a step we view as critical in the learning process. In doing that for this project, participants celebrated differences and discovered how to work together, skills we view as critical for being a better human being and creating a better world.

This quote from Academy founder Aaron Stern gets right to the heart of what we call "The Learning Spirit." In contrast to learning for the sake of outcomes, we learn all of our lives in order to change perspective, analyze impact on ourselves and others, and participate differently in our lives.

When we spend all of our time mastering the skills that we need for utility, we forget that learning also is the gateway to some of our deepest values and aspirations as human beings.

We invite you to reflect on things you'd like to learn that have nothing to do with certain success. What would those things be?

Last week, Academy Staff, faculty and board members came from far and wide to meet at our Santa Fe campus for a summer retreat. During days of storytelling, walking the land, creating art, and sharing memories, both new and long time Academy colleagues gathered as one in a very special place to all of us.

We're grateful for an opportunity to have fellowship and fun together in a beautiful place that means so much to us and hopefully many of you too.

In a fast paced world, we can not forget to slow down while taking time to reflect, notice, and connect to the people and places around us ✨☀️🌳⛰️
