Do you own an Anasazi (Pueblo) style flute but have been struggling to make a sound? Do you get notes, but then they go away? Does it seem like there are some elusive techniques that would help you to play this ancient flute with more style and confidence?
If so, then the Ancestral Spirits workshop was designed for you! This workshop will give you the opportunity to get in depth instruction and one-on-one feedback from virtuoso Anasazi flute player, Scott August.
Whether you are just starting out or have some experience, this intimate workshop will allow each participant to receive personal instruction on finding and keeping notes. It will explore the different scales and ways to take your playing to the next level.
The workshop also includes a day trip to Chaco Canyon, home of the largest and most important ruins of the ancient Southwest. Once there, we will receive a private tour of Pueblo Bonito which is the largest "Great House" ruin where eight flutes were unearthed.
The Ancestral Spirits workshop will also look at other end-blown flutes, such as the Long Count, Silk Road, Lost Tuning and Chinese Xiao.
This workshop will not be offered in 2017.
