Notice of All Alumni Meeting and Election Reminder: Early voting in the Association’s 2026 elections ends Thursday September 24 at 5:00pm ET. Ballots and further instructions are available at the link in the comments.

It's Election Time - Early Voting Starts Today!

Please join us at our upcoming All-Alumni Meeting on September 27 (in person and virtual attendance details below). We will hear updates from the Alumni Association Board, and alumni will elect a Secretary, a Treasurer, seven At-Large Directors to the Alumni Association Board of Directors, and one alumni-elected representative to the College's Board of Visitors and Governors. Additionally, alumni will vote on a proposed amendment to the Alumni Association’s By-Laws.

The 2026 All-Alumni Meeting and Elections will be held at Homecoming on the Annapolis Campus.

Sunday, September 27, 2026
10-11:30 a.m. ET /9 - 10:30 a.m. CT/ 8 - 9:30 a.m. MT /7 - 8:30 a.m. PT.

This meeting is open to all alumni, students, faculty, and staff. For those unable to attend in person, a Zoom link for the meeting is available at the link in the comments.

Early voting is now open via online ballot or mail-in ballot. Vote online today through the google form in the comments!

If you wish to receive a printable ballot, please send an email to [email protected].

Candidate bios and position descriptions, the proposed By-Laws Amendment, and ballots can be found online on the Alumni Association’s webpage.

Early voting ends on Thursday, September 24, 2026. All mail-in ballots must be received by 5 p.m. ET on that date. No ballots may be cast by proxy.

The last opportunity to vote will be in person during Homecoming in Annapolis at the annual All-Alumni Meeting.

Yesterday, President Brett Heavner (A89) was pleased to present Alumni Award of Merit Plates to two incredible alumnae of the college, Anne Schanche Ferro (A80), and Didi Schanche (A80). Ms. Ferro and Ms. Schanche were not able to attend the Awards Reception back in March, so we are very happy now to see their Awards rightfully conferred to them. Ms. Emily Langston, Senior Advisor to the President of St. John's College, was also able to attend the dinner and congratulate the awardees.

Anne Schanche Ferro (A80) received her 2025 Award of Merit for her outstanding achievements in the field of government and nonprofit administration. Ms. Ferro's career-long leadership and dedication to transportation safety has led to safer roads for us all.

Didi Schanche (A80) received her 2025 Award of Merit for her achievements in the field of journalism in international affairs and national security, and her exemplary leadership bringing to the fore critical stories of global impact.

Congratulations once more to Ms. Schanche and Ms. Ferro!

In 1827, the St. John’s College Alumni Association was founded by Francis Scott Key (Class of 1796). And 200 years later, in 2027, the Association will celebrate its bicentennial. We are planning numerous activities and special events throughout the year to come in commemoration of our 200th anniversary. As part of this effort, we invite alumni to share photos, documents, and memories that the Association can use to build out our celebrations. Please use the link below to send us your favorite commemorative materials; and don't be shy with your creativity. We can't wait to see them!
