Good morning,

I wanted to provide you with a few updates and take a moment to celebrate all of you and the amazing work happening at El Dorado!

We recently received several recognitions in the Best of Santa Fe awards:

Best Preschool – 2nd Place
Best Elementary School – 3rd Place
Best Middle School in Santa Fe – 1st Place!!!

These recognitions are incredibly well deserved and are a direct reflection of the hard work, dedication, relationships, and care you provide for our students every single day. Personally, I think we should be #1 in every category!

Congratulations to all of you for helping create a school culture where students are encouraged to think critically, innovate, and achieve at high levels. Achievements like these do not happen by accident. They happen because of the environment, opportunities, encouragement, and support you provide for students every day.

I also feel extremely lucky to have had the opportunity to work with each and every one of you. Thank you for your passion, commitment, and the love you show our students and school community every single day.

Thank you again for everything you do for our students, families, and school community. I am incredibly proud of all of you!

Hello Dust Devils!

We are excited to officially introduce our new principal, Ms. Alyssa Maestas. We hope you can join us Tuesday evening to help welcome her to our school community. This will be a great opportunity to meet Ms. Maestas and learn more about the future of El Dorado Community School. We will have a panel and Q&A session beginning at 5:00 p.m. in the gym.

Please do not forget to pick up your child’s inhaler, EpiPen, or other medications. Nurse Shelly will be set up in the parent pick up area on the last day of school.

As the school year winds down, please encourage your students to check the lost and found for any missing items. We currently have a large collection of jackets, sweatshirts, hats, lunchboxes, water bottles, and other miscellaneous items. Any unclaimed items will most likely be donated or discarded over the summer.

Here is what we have coming up this week:

• Tuesday, May 19th at 5:00 p.m. – Meet Our New Principal Night
• Daily raffle drawings for our “Beat Your Score” competition prizes

• Wednesday, May 20th -Field Day: Ask your teachers for schedules
• Thursday, May 22nd – Last Day of School Dismissal at 1:05 p.m. for all students

Fall Sports Information:
For students planning to participate in fall sports, including volleyball and cross country, please complete a physical this summer and create a DragonFly account to ensure your student athlete is ready to participate this fall.
