A sweet way to celebrate our families!

On September 3, as part of Del Norte High School’s “20 Day Kick-Off” initiative, our Student Success Facilitator, Kennedy, joined school staff in handing out donuts to family members who dropped their students off on time.

The first 20 days of a new school year are an important time for students to build positive attendance habits, engage in learning, and develop a strong sense of belonging at school.

While we’re celebrating students for showing up and building those positive habits, we also want to recognize the families who work hard every day to make sure their students arrive at school on time and ready to learn. ❤️

At Communities In Schools of New Mexico, learning is one of our core values—and we know meaningful learning goes far beyond getting the right answer.

We’re proud to support and learn alongside our partners at Santa Fe Public Schools as they create opportunities for students to ask not only “What’s the answer?” but “How do I know?” and “Why does it work?”

In the latest episode of Inside SFPS, STEM Coordinator Arturo Lujan explores how math instruction can help students build conceptual understanding, make connections, and develop the confidence to think beyond memorization.

We’re so grateful to Santa Fe Public Schools for hosting the final day of our CISNM Back-to-School Retreat at the B.F. Young Professional Center and providing expert-level training to help our team better support students and families.

A special thank you to Dr. Cynthia Maynard, Executive Director of Exceptional Student Services, and the SFPS team for sharing your expertise, welcoming us as partners and reminding us that we belong here.

We’re stronger together—and our students and families are better served because of it. ❤️

At Communities In Schools of New Mexico, whether we’re in the classroom or nature’s classroom, we’re always learning, reflecting, and cultivating community.

On the final day of our back-to-school retreat, as we kicked off the 2026–2027 school year, we came together to swap stories, unwind, play, and reconnect with why we do what we do—for our students and our community.

We are present for each other so we can continue providing support to students across 14 Title I schools in Santa Fe and Albuquerque.

We’re excited to keep this momentum going and head into the year ahead doing what we do best: showing up, breaking down barriers to support services, and serving our students and families. ❤️

Milagro Middle School, Nava Elementary, Santa Fe High, ECO High, and Chaparral Elementary are currently in a shelter-in-place due to a bear sighting in the surrounding neighborhood.

The Communities In Schools of New Mexico team was so excited to tour The Food Depot on August 13! 💚

During the 2025–2026 school year, CISNM provided 122,168 meals to students and families at our Title I partner schools. We love our incredible partner, The Food Depot, and are grateful for their support in helping us make sure students and families have access to the food they need.

Strong community partnerships make this work possible. Thank you, The Food Depot, for all you do for New Mexico families!
