SFUAD is currently hosting 27 students and staff from Laureate network universities in Chile and Peru. They are taking part in the Vacation English Immersion program and will be staying on campus through March 11th. The purpose of their visit is to improve their English skills through intense immersion in American culture. The 27 students have been divided into three separate classes based on their skill-level of English. Rachel Moran is teaching the advanced class, while Dafyd Rawlings and Jenny Sanborn teach the other levels. Classes will take place in the morning, Monday through Wednesday and Friday. The morning sessions are followed in the afternoon by interactive, skill-based workshops and will take place Monday through Wednesday. Thursdays are reserved for class excursions to Albuquerque, Bandelier National Monument and Tent Rocks. In addition to classes and workshops, the students will be participating in on-campus events. We're looking forward to an exciting visit! (Photo by Ashley Costello)

The new semester has begun! The Multi-Cultural Foods Expo held on the night of Friday, January 23rd, was a rousing success with students visiting the Grill for an evening of delicious international snacks and karaoke provided by DJ Diego DeAguero. The spread consisted of fried plantains, rice and beans with Salsa Lizano, open-faced shrimp and salmon sandwiches and tres leches cake for desert. International and domestic students alike delighted in singing their favorite songs, whether they were up at the microphone or singing along at their tables and dancing in their seats. A big thanks goes out to Bon Appetit and Student Life for putting on this event for the student body. Photo is courtsesy of Ashley Costello.
