About us:
Santa Fe, New Mexico is a special place with a special past. SF is the oldest capital city in the United States. We are truly a multi-cultural place with deep roots primarily for people of Spanish and Native American decent although all peoples have been and are welcome in our special city.
As the years have gone by, there has arisen challenges to maintain our heritage. To mention some-- #1, a growing concern among the older that the newer generations are replacing local customs, traditions and knowledge of our past with technology and more modern ways of life (there is room for both). As the older generation passes on, we have an obligation to pour what we know into our youth in a way that interests them-- #2, a reckless, one-dimensional way of interpreting history that completely ignores the true context of history and historical events, ignores the many good deeds but instead paints our great ancestors and evil. This thinking, if left unchecked threatens to undermine all of our heritage and past, and, replace it with the perspective of people who are only capable of seeing evil.
This page is a small attempt to guard our heritage. We will be posting local historical articles and information, old-school recipes, and bringing attention and awareness to any local action we consider a threat to our heritage.
