Southwest University of Naprapathic Medicine is the first school of Naprapathy in the Southwest. SUNM was incorporated and licensed by New Mexico in 2006.

Since then curriculum has been developed, candidacy status with a National Accreditor has been secured, and a strong faculty and management team has been put in place. Although Naprapathic Medicine is 100 years old, New Mexico is only the second state to license the profession. The New Mexico Naprapathic Practice Act was signed into law in 2004. During the four years of lobbying it took to pass

Picture this.

It is a Saturday.

You are in the lab at SUNM.
Working hands on.
Learning how to treat real conditions.

Not just reading about it.
Actually doing it.

Now fast forward.

That is your career.

Helping people move better.
Helping people live without constant pain.
Using your hands, your knowledge, your training.

That future starts with one decision.

The next SUNM cohort begins in April.

Every student who is there made a move when others hesitated.

If you are serious about a career in hands on medicine, now is the time.

Most people don’t hate working.
They hate working without meaning.

If your current path feels empty, that’s information, not failure.

Naprapathic Medicine exists for people who want hands-on work, real patient impact, and a skill that matters.

April is the next start.

New Mexico has a healthcare problem.
And it’s not what you think.

Rural communities are short on providers.
Pain care is overloaded.
Patients wait. Or settle for meds.

That’s why this matters.

New Mexico legislators just introduced the “Inclusion in Healthcare Act.”
The goal is simple.
Expand insurance coverage to licensed manual medicine providers.

That includes naprapaths.

What this means for patients.
• More access to care, especially in rural areas
• Fewer wait times
• Non-drug, non-surgical pain treatment
• Providers trained to treat root causes, not symptoms

What this means for the profession.
• Naprapathic Medicine moving to the front lines of pain care
• Insurance inclusion, not exclusion
• A real solution to a real shortage

This isn’t theory.
There are nearly 1,000 licensed practitioners already serving New Mexico.

SUNM trains doctors for moments like this.
Evidence-based.
Hands-on.
Built for communities that need care now.

The future of pain care in New Mexico is getting clearer.
And it doesn’t start with a prescription.

Change doesn’t mean starting over.
Sometimes it means building on what you already know.

SUNM attracts students who want to deepen their skills, not abandon them.

Veterans, this matters.

SUNM accepts GI Bill benefits for our Doctor of Naprapathic Medicine program.
That means your service can support your next chapter in healthcare.

You served with purpose.
Now build a career with one.

A lot of people think becoming a doctor means huge debt.

SUNM students are surprised when they learn how much financial aid can actually cover.

FAFSA. Loans. Payment plans.
The path is more within reach than you think.

Your future starts April 6

The people you’ll help someday…
They don’t know your name yet.
But they’ll never forget you.

Becoming a doctor isn’t about status.
It’s about showing up for people who are in pain and giving them hope again.

If that feels like a calling, it probably is.

Your degree was the foundation.
But the impact you want? That comes next.

SUNM’s hybrid 3-year doctorate lets you turn curiosity into a career and a bachelor’s degree into “Doctor.”
Not in 8 years. Not someday.
By April 6th, 2026, you could already be on your way.

If you’re meant to help people, this is your chance to step into something bigger.
