Our 8th grade poetry workshop was a powerful reminder of what student voice can do. We were honored to welcome Ocean Vuong, who thoughtfully responded to questions written by our students with care and depth. In our second session, Atticus Gerberding led a writing workshop that challenged students to write without naming their subject, and they rose to the occasion with courage. Many shared their work out loud, holding space for one another with incredible maturity and respect. Moments like this are why we continue to create spaces for creativity, connection, and student expression. ✨ ✍️

On February 26th, MDS protégés gathered to celebrate and thank their mentors with an evening of performances, presentations, and food! What a beautiful celebration of the enormous gift these outstanding community volunteers give our students and our school. Huzzah! Photography by the immensely talented 🐉

The MDS Class of 2026 celebrated one of Monte’s oldest senior class traditions last night - the Burnt Spaghetti Dinner - hosted by Mario Rivera’s family. This night is an opportunity for students to reflect on their time together as Dragons and in many ways is a final campfire circle, another Monte tradition that’s as old as the school. We love you class of 2026! 🐉 ❤️
