Applications are open for SSN mentors and mentees for the 2023-2024 year!

SSN pairs experienced graduate students with first- and second-year graduate students to guide them through their courses, qualifying exams, and initial transition to graduate school. They aim to increase support and build community throughout PBSE by hosting monthly luncheons and provide funds for mentor/mentee pairs to get together and participate in fun activities of their choosing.
Why be a mentee? Get help navigating complex university systems from people who have done it and build community and a support network in Santa Cruz
Why be a mentor? Share your hard-earned knowledge and make new friends and expand your support network. Also build leadership and mentorship skills for future jobs and receive a $100 quarterly stipend plus funds for fun activities with your mentee.
