Studio Sprout | Art Classes & Curriculum Our ultimate goal is to provide projects and activities that are fun for kids. The studio is vibrant, colorful and cozy.

At Studio Sprout, we provide a welcoming and fun environment equipped with all sorts of innovative art and garden activities for young children where experimentation is encouraged. We believe in living artfully and being good stewards for the planet. We make a point to reuse, reduce, and recycle. Art projects will often incorporate recycled materials. We have small class sizes so children can strengthen their social skills in a comfortable and nurturing space. Children move freely about, creating art at their own pace. Each child is encouraged to make their own decisions about how they will formulate and execute their art. This gives our young artists opportunities to problem-solve and use their creative potential. With minimal instruction and lots of freedom the art of every child comes out beautifully every time!

Animal Story Spinners was inspired by the playful work of Naomi Tipping and we got the extra special treat of having Naomi join us in the video tutorial to take kids behind the scenes of her work and creative process.

And since I rarely show what’s inside my lesson plans, I snuck a little peek in case it's helpful to see what an actual Studio Sprout resource looks like.

This is exactly the kind of project I love to design. Enough structure to get kids going, with plenty of room for their ideas to take over.

This week marks a huge milestone for Studio Sprout. I released our very first middle school lesson. 🎉

Zodiac in Negative Space was created in collaboration with art teacher Lauren Laird and officially kicked off a brand-new collection for older artists.

Middle Schoolers love projects that explore something that feels personal.

Designed for grades 6–8, students practice using negative space, layering, symbolism, and the grid method while weaving in ancient history and a mini artist study.

After five years of creating lessons for elementary artists, it feels pretty exciting to grow Studio Sprout alongside them.

If you’re a member, you’ll find this project at the top of your Library under New Lessons.

It’s also at the top of my shop. Comment "DROP" and I'll send you a link. The resource includes a full video, PDF lesson plan, and drawing references to make teaching easy and learning fun.

There’s something about fiber arts that just hits differently. 🧶

Inside Studio Sprout I’ve made sure to create a variety of projects so kids get to stitch, wrap, weave, and experiment with materials they don’t always get their hands on.

These are some of my favorite projects for bringing more texture, material exploration, and creative choice into the art room.
