Join us this autumn for our Parent Child class, a warm and nurturing space for young children and their caregivers to slow down, connect, and experience the gentle rhythms of Waldorf early childhood.
Together, we’ll enjoy seasonal songs, nourishing rhythms, and play in our newly remodeled Preschool classroom and outdoor play garden.
Creating a safe space for both children and adults to build meaningful connections within our community.
Our autumn session begins in mid September & we would love to welcome you and your little one into this special season together.
If you’ve participated in our parent child class before ~ what are your favorite parts of your experience? We’d love to know! Share with us below ✨

At first glance, woodworking might look like just a hands-on activity, but in a Waldorf classroom it's so much more. 🔨✨️
As students measure, carve, sand, and shape wood, they're building the very skills that support academic success: focus, patience, problem-solving, perseverance, spatial reasoning, and fine motor control. Every project asks them to plan ahead, think critically, and bring an idea to life through careful intentional work.
When children learn with their hands, their preparing their minds for a lifetime of learning.

We're celebrating ur student mathematicians!✨️🎉
As the school year came to a close, four of our students participated in the Math Olympiads, where their hard work, curiosity and critical thinking truly shone.
At SCWS, math is taught through movement, mental math, geometric drawing, and hands on discovery before abstract concepts are introduced. This strong foundation helps students to develop confidence, flexible thinking, and strong problem-solving skills.
We're so proud to see their hard work recognized!

School may be on break, but Redwood Summer Camp is in full bloom! 🌿☀️
Summer has its own kind of learning, and we're grateful to be able to spend these sun-filled days together beneath the redwoods, by the creek, and beside the sea.

Presenting: the 8th grade graduating class of 2026! 🌿✨️🎓🌲
As they step beyond our campus, may they carry the creativity, passion, and reverence for life that their school years have so dedicatedly cultivated.
The faculty sent them off with the song, "May the Road Rise to Meet You":
~May the road rise to meet you
May the wind be at your back
May the sun shine warm upon your face
May the rain fall softly on your field
And until we meet again~
Congratulations, Class of 2026 -- your journey is just beginning. 🌟

The 5th Grade Pentathalon was amazing last week; this moment of the 5th grade is not primarily about competition or athletic achievement, but about cultivating grace, perseverance, courage, teamwork, and respect through beautifully practiced movement and games inspired by Greek athletics. It also serves as a bridge between childhood innocence and the increasing individuality of middle school years, giving students a deeply embodied experience of confidence, dignity, and belonging.

Last week's May Faire was sensational! Thanks to our volunteers, donors, and attendees for making it such a magical day! Special thanks to the Food Bin and Companion Bakeshop for their generous donations. Also thanks to New Leaf, Wild Roots, and Staff of Life for their contributions as well!
It takes a village and we are so lucky to be held in community with you all.

A weaving of generations 💛
Grandparents and grandfriends joined students in their daily rhythms, their work, and their joy. Today reminds us that education never ends; it is a living thread, carried forward through relationship.
We are all held in a tapestry much larger than ourselves. ✨️
