This week’s theme, “First World Problems,” invites us to laugh at those tiny inconveniences that somehow feel like major life crises in the moment. From a phone battery at 10% to having too many streaming services and still finding nothing to watch, we’ll have plenty to talk and laugh about.

And beneath the humor is a little perspective: sometimes it’s good to remember just how fortunate we are and appreciate the comforts, choices, opportunities, and freedoms we can easily take for granted.

We did it! Santa Cruz Downtown Toastmasters earned Smedley Distinguished Club status, achieving all 10 goals in Toastmasters’ Distinguished Club Program!

Only 15 of approximately 130 clubs in our district earned this honor last year, making it an especially proud achievement.

A big thank-you to Tom Ginsburg for encouraging members to complete their Pathways projects and levels, to our dedicated officers, and to every member who participated and helped keep our club strong and welcoming.

The ribbon may have arrived fashionably late, but the celebration is right on time. Congratulations, everyone!
