Hi we're the Merrill Pottery Coop. A student run cooperative group that is here to get dirty and make some ceramics.
Come check us out at Merrill College behind the dorms on the UCSC campus. The co-op is made up of two studios, both of which are located in the basement of Merrill A-dorm.

To our first glaze firing this year. Thank you to everyone who screen printed with us! We are thankful for all of our wonderful members. Happy Thanksgiving to those who celebrate, and a very happy Thursday to those who don't! And to all our current slugs, enjoy the time off from studying!

Thank you to everyone who attended our pumpkin workshop last Saturday! Happy Halloween! 🎃
Good morning! Here is some info about upcoming events at the co-op. Hope you can make it!
• Handbuilding Pumpkins Workshop with Amanda on Saturday Oct. 29 at 1pm
Get in the spirit of fall and Halloween by handbuilding some pumpkins and gourds this weekend!
• Glazing Workshop with Bree on Wednesday Nov. 2 at 5pm
New to glazing or just need a refresher? Please join us next week to learn the basics of glazing! If you have bisqueware make sure to glaze it soon so we can fill the kiln for…
• First Glaze Firing on Sunday Nov. 6 time TBA
Come hang out with us while we fire up the big kiln for the first time this school year. Snacks will be provided! We will also be doing screen-printing; no experience needed, we will teach you how!
• Raku Field Trip near the end of November with date and time TBA
For those who don’t know, raku is a special glaze firing technique. Since the process involves removing pieces while they’re red hot, we cannot do it safely on campus amid all our beautiful (flammable) trees. So Monika is organizing a field trip to a studio that specializes in this type of firing! If you are interested in participating, make some pieces using SOLDATE clay (B-mix can crack and cinnamon is too dark) and have them bisque fired. Check back later for more details!

Bring in some cool pics or art pieces to hang in the coop! just be sure you're okay with them getting dirty. Also, if anyone has a working wall clock they want to donate to the coop that would be sick
