Wanted to share this beautiful prayer and painting by Sarah West.

May power return to those whose hands are guided by love. May power return to those whose deeds are guided by justice. May power return to those whose words are guided by truth. May power return to those whose hearts are guided by reverence. May power return to those whose spirits are guided by grace, beauty, and care for all beings everywhere.

This is my new morning prayer.

What if we spent as much time investing in connection with our children as we did trying to teach them the lessons of life?

First of all, we’d teach them the most important lesson of all: that they are securely attached to us, and second? All the other lessons would be learned with far less (not none) strife and struggle.

The basis of all learning begins in our attachment relationships and the lessons we learn about those relationships are truly foundational to our life path. Do we matter? Do we have a voice? Are our feeling valid? Does someone in the world want me near them and find me delightful?

Every kid deserves caregivers who light up when they enter the room, and every caregiver benefits from this incredibly simple and life giving intervention.

So good!
