Thank you to our amazing Mr. O who is not only Science teacher and Principal, but is also the best encourager and contractor of these outdoor educational experiences. And our gratitude is equally extended to Mrs. Hilscher who takes every opportunity to be with her students to heart. As tradition will have it, she drove to camp yesterday afternoon to spend this special day with the students. 🐚💙🐚
Without fail, we always have the best parent chaperones on our trips...and this week held true to the fact. We appreciate them, as we couldn’t do without. 🦀🐚🌾💙

Before we head to the beach, let’s take another minute to pose for a group picture...and reflect about our camp experience at Mission Springs Outdoor Education. It’s been a full week of incredible learning and fantastic fun. And here we are at the highest spot, Eagle’s Point! 🦅👀🌿

It’s beach day...headed there now. Natural Bridges Beach in Santa Cruz is a favorite, and the dunes, ocean and tide pools await our arrival. 🌾🐚🦀

💙✨😁 We really hoped this would happen...and it did! VCMS alum Ally Dodd met up with Mr. Oliver today at Mission Springs. Ally who was a sixth grader attending Science Camp not that long ago (it’s been about 10 years), is a recent college graduate and employed in Program Ministries at Mount Herman. What fun it was to reminisce with Ally about the night hike, banana slugs and all things VCMS Science Camp. 💙🍇🎚

Good morning...Day 4 with a Marine layer. ⛅️

The keepers of the garden are there to watch over it, put in place by God for a specific purpose. We are there to learn about and honor His work. 🌿🍂🐌🌲

Yesterday was the day, and no one can ever say that Mr. Oliver isn’t a willing participant. Even if it’s an itsy bitsy baby banana slug. 🌿🐌🌲
