Dinner doesn’t have to be separate.
You can absolutely serve your family meal with baby in mind...it just takes a few tiny tweaks.
Here’s how to make one meal work for everyone:
🍴Skip the salt until you set baby’s portion aside
🍴Serve baby’s food in finger-sized pieces
🍴Watch for added sugars or honey (in things like sauces or dressings)
🍴Make it soft enough to squish between your fingers
Sometimes it’s as simple as pulling out a few roasted carrots before seasoning the rest for the grown-ups. Or shredding some chicken before you drown it in barbecue sauce.
You don’t need to cook separate meals.
You just need a few real-life tricks to adapt what you're already making.

Ever feel like feeding your baby is a test you’re failing?
Too many moms get stuck in their heads trying to follow every rule.
Offer the perfect first food.
Serve it at the perfect time.
Make sure baby eats the perfect amount.
But feeding isn’t a performance.
It’s a relationship.
Your baby doesn’t need perfect.
They need you. Present, calm, and connected.
When you shift from “doing it right” to “doing it together,” feeding becomes less of a checklist… and more of a joy.

Your baby’s bottles or nursing sessions are still doing the heavy lifting for nutrition right now.
But solids? They’re doing something just as important.
They’re teaching:
👅 Oral motor coordination
👁️🗨️ Hand-eye connection
🤲🏻 Independence
👃 Sensory learning
🍽️ Food familiarity
You don’t need to rush or stress. You just need to begin.
Want help knowing what to serve, how to prep it, and how to balance it all with milk?

Wobbly feet = wobbly swallow.
When your baby’s feet dangle, their core has to work overtime just to stay upright. That extra effort means less stability for chewing, swallowing, and even reaching for food.
Here’s the scoop: stable feet = stable body = safer eating.
Feet flat. Hips, knees, and ankles close to 90 degrees. Torso upright. Tray at about elbow height.
A few small adjustments can completely change mealtime comfort and confidence for both of you.
If you’re unsure about your baby’s setup or want a second set of eyes on their high chair fit, I can help you find what works.

Banana smeared from tray to toes? Totally normal. That mess is skill-building magic. Babies learn by squishing, smearing, and exploring before they truly eat.

It’s not just a cute detail.
A footrest completely changes how your baby eats.
When little feet are dangling, the whole body works harder to stay upright… and that can make eating feel like a chore.
But with a solid footrest?
✔️ Core and hips stay stable
✔️ Hands are freer to explore
✔️ Chewing and swallowing get smoother
This is one of the most overlooked (and most important!) features of a high chair.
If you’re still building your registry or planning your setup, make sure foot support is on your list.
