đĽâžď¸ In just two weeks⌠two historic pitching performances.
With an incredible display of pitching dominance, two of our Cardinals delivered remarkable performances on the mound over the past two weeks.
Yesterday, Zane Stauffer threw a perfect game.â¨That means not only were there no hits, but no opposing player even reached base. Of the 15 batters he faced, Zane struck out an incredible 14, leading the Cardinals to a 14â0 victory over Faith Baptist.â¨Zane will continue his baseball career next year at The Masterâs University, where we canât wait to see what he accomplishes at the next level.
Just a week and a half earlier, Jacob Trosper delivered a no-hitter.â¨Facing 23 batters, Jacob recorded 16 strikeouts and allowed zero hits in a 4â0 win over Desert Christian.â¨Jacob will be continuing his baseball career at Pomona College, and we are excited to watch him carry his talents to the collegiate stage.
Two incredible pitching performances.â¨Two Cardinals competing at the highest level.
We are proud of the dedication, discipline, and excellence these athletes continue to demonstrate every time they step on the field. â¤ď¸âž

For this weekâs Athlete of the Week, the Athletics Department has chosen to highlight all of the senior athletes who are part of the basketball program. This is what both the girlsâ and boysâ basketball coaches had to say about each senior athlete:
Savannah Banke:
Every season, I pray for a player who will lead her teammates on and off the court. Teams need someone who can lift their spirits and encourage them when they are feeling inadequateâsomeone to confide in and aspire to be like. Savannah is that player for this yearâs team. She is the cement that unites our team with her strong faith, love, empathy, and discipline. Great job, Savannah!
Caleb Shaffer:
The boysâ varsity team leaned heavily on Calebâs dominance in the paint on both ends of the floor this season. His strength, toughness, and presence inside set the tone every game. Beyond the stats, Caleb was a strong and vocal leader who selflessly pursued excellence in all that he did. He exemplified Colossians 3:23: âWhatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord.â Great job, Caleb!
Andrew Fowler:
Andy served as a steady anchor for this team all season with his selfless play and commitment to his teammates. A hard worker and constant encourager, he brought joy and unity both on and off the floor. Andyâs consistency and team-first mindset made everyone around him better. He demonstrated Philippians 2:3: âIn humility, value others above yourselves.â Great job, Andy!
Caleb Grissom:
A fierce competitor through and through, Caleb was willing to do whatever it took to help his team win. Despite injuries and adversity, he consistently played with heart, toughness, and resilience. When the team needed a big play, Caleb was dependable and fearless. He lived out 1 Corinthians 16:13: âBe on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong.â Great job, Caleb!

This weekâs Athlete of the Week is Eva Banke! The girlsâ varsity team played two games this past week, and Evaâs drive and determination were evident in each game. She consistently gave her best effort and demonstrated Isaiah 40:31, which says, âBut those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength.â Great job Eva!

Another new coach added to our coaching staff for the 2025-26 school year is:
Wyatt Waldron - Head Varsity Girls Softball Coach
We are pleased to announce our new Head Softball Coach, Wyatt Waldron. Coach Waldron was most recently our Head Baseball Coach and has 10 years of softball coaching experience, including recreational and travel ball. His vision for the program is to honor God on and off the field. He plans to do that by building a competitive and enjoyable environment for the players.
âI have been coaching softball for almost 10 years. I have coached both recreational teams at Hart and competitive âtravel ballâ teams around Southern California. My goals for the program are the same as they were for the baseball program. Honor god in all that we do on and off the field. Build an environment thatâs both competitive in nature and enjoyable for the players that fosters a fun environment for all involved.â

We want to announce another new coach to our coaching staff for the 2025-26 school year.
Ryan Franchimone - Head Varsity Boys Baseball Coach
Please welcome Ryan Franchimone as the new Head Coach of SCCS Baseball. Coach Franch graduated from SCCS in 2017 and was a member of the 2015 CIFSS Division 7 Finalist team. He played four years of NAIA baseball at San Diego Christian College. Coach Franch has 10 years of baseball coaching experience including the travel and high school levels. Coach Franch plans to develop players on the field and off the field in their walk with Christ. In his words, âBaseball presents an opportunity to teach young men how to rely on Christ in growing from failure, embracing success, and facing struggles. My hope is that SCCS Baseball becomes a community that competes day in and day out, while showing Christ in the way we compete.â
