Happy Transgender Pride Flag Day! 🏳️‍⚧️

On August 19, 1999, trans activist and Navy veteran Monica Helms created the Transgender Pride Flag. Fifteen years later, on August 19, 2014 the original flag was donated to the Smithsonian’s National Museum of American History.

Designed with light blue, pink, and white stripes, the flag was crafted so that no matter which way you fly it, it is always correct, symbolizing finding correctness and validity in our lives.

Today, we honor the history, strength, and vibrant visibility of the trans community. 💙🩷🤍🩷💙

Raising healthy, informed, and confident young people starts with open and age-appropriate conversations! Join PFLAG National at our upcoming PFLAG Academy Online virtual learning session, "S*x Education 101: Supporting LGBTQ+ Youth Through Inclusive Learning" to learn about the fundamentals of comprehensive health education, the current climate of s*x education in the United States, best practices in creating inclusive spaces in education, and tips and strategies for fostering conversations with the young people in our lives around s*x and s*xuality.
Led by special guests from Planned Parenthood of the Pacific Southwest, attendees will:
• Identify the difference between comprehensive s*x education and s*xual rist avoidance education.
• Understand the current political state of s*x education.
• Provide examples of inclusive s*x education best practices.
• Discuss strategies and tips for confident conversations with our youth around s*x and s*xuality.

We are located in a zone with many active faults. The chance of a major earthquake of 6.7 or higher in Santa Clarita is very high. So, each of us must prepare our homes to minimize damage and injury.

This practical presentation helps inform residents about earthquake preparedness steps they can take to protect themselves and their families. Attendees will gain actionable survival skills and practical preparation steps.

Admission is free and open to the public. Space is limited by venue capacity, so arrive early.
