Congratulations to our incredible graduates! 🎓💙

At Academy of the Canyons, our students graduate with much more than a high school diploma. Many leave with college credits, transferable units, and even Associate Degree(s) earned through our partnership with College of the Canyons.

What makes their journey so unique is that they truly live the college experience while still in high school. Our students attend classes on a college campus, learn alongside college students, and are supported not only by our dedicated AOC faculty and staff, but also by the outstanding professors, faculty, and staff at College of the Canyons.

Yesterday’s College of the Canyons graduation was especially exciting because several of our graduates were recognized among the college’s highest-achieving students, including valedictorians. While we are incredibly proud of their academic accomplishments, what makes us most proud is that they used their time at AOC to explore their futures, discover new interests, and find their passions.

That is what AOC is all about—giving students the opportunity to explore, grow, and challenge themselves in a small-school environment where they are known, supported, and encouraged every step of the way.

We are so proud of the Class of 2026 and all they have accomplished. The future is bright, and we can’t wait to see where their journeys take them next.

We’re so proud of our Class of 2026! Congrats!

🎉 Happy Retirement, Roy Loper! 🎉

Today we celebrate an incredible milestone and an even more incredible person.

After 20 years of dedicated service to the William S. Hart Union High School District and six wonderful years at Academy of the Canyons, Roy Loper is officially retiring!

We are especially grateful that Roy chose to finish his distinguished career here at AOC. Over the years, he has been a steady presence on our campus, greeting students with a smile, supporting staff, helping keep our school safe, and building meaningful relationships with our community. His kindness, humor, and genuine care for others have made a lasting impact on all of us.

To honor Roy’s retirement, ROOTS generously provided a special retirement gift and cake on behalf of our AOC families. We also presented Roy with a framed photograph of him alongside our new golf cart—signed by the entire Class of 2026 as a small token of appreciation for the many lives he has touched throughout his time at AOC.

Roy, thank you for your years of service, your dedication to students, and the countless ways you have made Academy of the Canyons a better place. Your presence will be deeply missed, but your legacy will remain part of our school community for years to come.

Please join us in wishing Roy a very happy retirement and congratulating him on 20 years of service to the Hart District! 🎊👏💙

Congratulations to Mr. Jason Wilhelm, Academy of the Canyons’ Teacher of the Year for 2025–2026!

Tonight, we had the opportunity to celebrate Mr. Wilhelm alongside the outstanding Teachers of the Year from across the William S. Hart Union High School District and the many school districts throughout the Santa Clarita Valley.

This year’s celebration was made even more special as both Mr. Wilhelm and his wife, Mrs. Wilhelm, were each recognized as Teachers of the Year in their respective districts. What an incredible accomplishment and testament to their dedication, passion, and impact on students’ lives each and every day.

We are also incredibly proud to recognize three of our AOC seniors, Olivia, Tlalli, and Chelsea, who were honored with scholarships as they begin their journeys toward becoming future educators themselves. Seeing our students inspired to enter the teaching profession is truly meaningful, and we know they will go on to make a lasting difference in the lives of others.

Congratulations to all of tonight’s honorees. AOC is so proud to celebrate educators who lead with heart, inspire with purpose, and help shape the future for generations to come! Congratulations again to Mr. and Mrs. Wilhelm, Tlalli, Chelsea and Olivia, our AOC future educators! 

Teacher of the Year, Jason Wilhelm, Classified educator of the year, Jennifer Laliberte, AOC ASB president, Diya Ravikumar and Principal, Dr. Juliet Fine represented our school to receive recognition from the WSHUSHD Board for AOC receiving a California Distinguished School award! We are beaming with joy and pride for our students, faculty and staff!
