2026 TMU Men's Soccer Preview - The Master's University Athletics The Master's University men's soccer team has reloaded for the 2026 season, with several key starters returning and head coach Jim Rickard adding multiple impact players.

to the days when TMU was called Los Angeles Baptist College! Beginning in 1965, Athletic Director Pete Reese and LABC slowly expanded the school’s athletic offerings, paving the way for what it is today!

Master’s Baseball has added alum Aaron Shackelford as an assistant coach!

During his time at TMU, Shackelford was named NAIA Player of the Year, NAIA All-American first-team, and GSAC Player of the Year. He left TMU as the Mustangs’ single-season record-holder in home runs (36), runs scored (83), RBI (99), total bases (206), and slugging percentage (1.096).

He was also a part of two NAIA World Series runs in 2016 and 2017. After graduation, Shackelford was selected in the 14th round of the MLB Draft by the Pittsburgh Pirates. Shackelford advanced as far as AAA in the Pirates’ farm system and hit 74 homers across five minor league seasons. Most importantly, he has demonstrated over the years a consistent love for Christ and heart for discipling others.

Master’s Women's Soccer is gearing up for its regular-season opener! Come and support the Mustangs as they host Nelson University on Reese Field at 5 p.m. Thursday!

We can’t wait to support our Mustangs this season, in every arena!

Master’s Women’s Volleyball ranked 15th in the 2026 NAIA Women’s Volleyball Preseason Coaches’ Poll! The Mustangs also ranked 1st in the GSAC Preseason Poll. The team received 8 out of 9 first-place votes, following their incredible 2025-26 season! We can’t wait to see what the Lord has in store for the team this year!

to 2013 Master’s Women’s Volleyball player Sam Dougherty!

During her career, Dougherty was a two-time AVCA All-Region, All-GSAC, and NAIA All-American selection. In program history, she remains second all-time in kills (1,607), third in aces (192), and seventh in digs (1,307)!
