Today we are excited to share a new article by Dr. Abner Chou, President of The Master's University, published through the Math3ma Journal.
Entitled "Biblical Wisdom on Artificial Intelligence," this article evaluates Scripture's view of godly wisdom versus intelligence and gives a biblical theology of AI from Genesis to Revelation. Dr. Chou also encourages readers as they contemplate the future of AI: "We do not need to be fearful, rather, we need to be faithful."

Truly, one of the delights in studying the sciences, in probing the depths of the mysteries of creation, are the frequent reminders of how small we are... and how great our God is! Abner Chou brought this precious reality to mind in his exposition of Psalm 104 at this year's Math3ma Symposium: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ijoh1qATFLw

For every Christian who's given their life to a vocation in STEM, there will be hardship. At this year's Math3ma Symposium, Jennifer Sinclair Curtis, Distinguished Professor of Chemical Engineering at UC Davis, told us her story of hardship — how she had to juggle life with a newborn baby, a budding career, and a husband recently diagnosed with a cancerous football-sized tumor.
Her life did not always fit the mold of academia, but it was exactly what the Lord wanted and what she needed. God used her hardship to break her free of self-sufficiency and through it all bring glory to Himself. Be sure to check out her remarkable testimony here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MlkUZ3c8ItA
"No one wants to go through times that are beyond their ability to endure. But sometimes the Lord in His sovereign purpose breaks us, so that He can remake us." - Jennifer Sinclair Curtis | Math3ma Symposium 2024

“How do we as Christians approach sanctity-of-life topics in our culture, in our church and community when they impact us, our loved ones, and fellow believers in Christ?” Dr. Tara Sander Lee addresses this question in our latest publication in the Journal of the Math3ma Institute, free online at: https://www.math3ma.institute/journal/july2024-sanderlee
Dr. Sander Lee is a molecular and cell biologist and the Former Vice President and Director of Life Sciences at the Charlotte Lozier Institute. Her article surveys the science of when human life begins and helps Christians think through some of the most challenging questions on related topics, including assisted reproductive technology and abortion.
Along with her scientific and medical expertise, Dr. Sander Lee’s heart for the gospel especially shines through: “What is needed most for all of us, no matter what decision we face, is the true water of life and bread of heaven—the gospel of Jesus Christ. As Jesus told the woman at the well, ‘Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks the water I give him will never thirst’ (John 4:13). In Christ, we have redemption and true life. Thanks be to God.”

“I personally understand the pain and suffering of infertility, and the rollercoaster of emotions when trying to conceive…. My prayer is that wherever your journey leads, that you grow in your relationship to Christ and seek him above all else.“
Our latest blog post is authored by Dr. Tara Sander Lee, the Former Vice President and Director of Life Sciences at the Charlotte Lozier Institute and a molecular cell biologist with over 20 years' experience in academic and clinical medicine. In it, she offers advice for Christian couples considering in-vitro fertilization, based on her own experience with infertility and understanding of science and Scripture.

It can be disheartening to spend years searching for a cure for a disease only to never make any progress. That was very much the case with Dr. Richard B. Dewey, Jr., a neurologist specializing in Parkinson's disease. However, this setback did not extinguish his faith. It only strengthened it.
For him, the complexity of an illness, and the inability to cure it, further demonstrates how great our God is. "The failure to solve human disease, ironically, strengthens my faith in Christ." | Math3ma Symposium 2024 | https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eHAVA4-ydU8
