Walter G Brown was a Great School

I invite anyone who attended this school to contact me . A couple thousand students passed through Walter G Brown until The CONDOS came alomng. The McCormick family leased the land to the school district for a cheap price . Anyone else remember when there was inhabitants at the Old House ?

I remember this school well. It was located at Monroe and Los Padres . Next to the school was what was left of a small farm . I guess the farmer sold off some of the land and left his house . I found out later they donated the land to the city to build the school. I went to school here when they landed on the moon . I remember we all watched it on TV . That day I saw a US flag raised at the farm house. The one many thought was haunted and not occupied.
The very farm that many thought was haunted. The house was not occupied for many years but an old lady and man moved back in for awhile 69-70 .They occupied part of the old house using a rear exit. The front door remained boarded giving it a haunted look . We really thought nobody occupied the house but found out differently one sunny day in Summer.
The Farmer was quite patriotic . I was very curious about the farmer and trespassed a few times . Finally one day the Farmer came out and said "Hey you kids come over here I have been watching you for weeks" WE approached and he showed himself . He was quite old and dressed in Coveralls . He came outside laughing and smiling , followed by his wife with a tray of homemade cookies and some milk . The farm house is gone now but when I drive by and look at the condos built there now I think about the Farmer and his wife.
Years later I have heard stories of greed.
Some citizens claim the farmer held out for cash .
I believe that about the part that was not Walter G Brown
Hey they wanted to retire in comfort.
I DO NOT want to believe any of the greedy stories NOPE
