Let It Be Ukulele Solo 04/07/2026

Did you know Rich Hawthorne teaches an online Ukulele class on Saturdays at 1pm? This class has been in session for 5 years. If your an intermediate Uke player, or a guitarist with a few years of playing experience, you could bring those playing skills over to the Ukulele! Rich provides all the music (which he transcribes) and records all the classes for your review during your practice time. Send us an email to find out more about this class, and let's get you registered for the next series - [email protected]

Here's a clip from one of his classes.

Slack-Key Guitar Lecture and Performance.
Friday, November 7 at 7pm - FREE
The introduction of the guitar to Hawai´i opened a new chapter in the music history of the Hawaiian Islands. Although the Hawaiian steel guitar and the ‘ukulele are frequently the most common instruments associated with Hawai´i, the 19th-century, Spanish-Mexican 6-string guitar served as a basis for a new musical tradition which has become known as ki ho´alu, or Hawaiian slack key guitar. Dr. Randall C. Kohl of the Universidad Veracruzana will talk about his research into this rich and beautiful tradition, its origins and its characteristics.
