What if what we’ve learned about resilience is wrong? 🤔
Cristina Leal, M.A. in Counseling Psychology ’24, reflects on what we often get wrong about resilience, and shares insights on belonging, community, and why support matters more than we think.
“Resilience can be the opportunity to thrive, but it isn’t something you either have or don’t have... Resilience is really bigger than the individual,” she says.
Many of us believe resilience means being strong, independent, and figuring everything out on our own. But what if we’re not really meant to exist on our own?
As Mental Health Awareness Month and the academic year comes to a close, this is your reminder that leaning on your community doesn’t make you weaker, it makes you stronger. 💪

Some days, the hardest thing isn’t the assignment, the deadline, or the uncertainty. It’s also the way we speak to ourselves through it all. 💆♀️
For anyone who might need a pause, a breath, or a little more kindness today, these affirmations are a reminder to be on your own team! ❤️🤍

This Mental Health Awareness Month, this year’s theme “More Good Days, Together” has us reflecting on just how special the ECP community truly is. 💚
Whether we’re gathering at events, learning together in class, or celebrating milestones big and small, it’s these shared moments and connections that make our days brighter.
We’re grateful to be part of a community that continues to support, uplift, and inspire one another every day.
