Ramjaat Raas

The University of California, Santa Barbara's premier Raas/Garba team! UCSB presents its very first Raas/Garba team, Ramjaat Raas.

Ramjaat Raas strives to preserve the energetic dance styles originating in the state of Gujarat, India by performing with decorative, wooden sticks called Dandiyas along with a particular technique of clapping and vibrant hand motions, called Garba. These two unique styles of dance come together to form an ultimate explosion of passion and synchronized movements, or as we like to call, Ramjaat Raas.
