Coastal Self Defense Academy

Coastal Self Defense Academy was invited to be part of a Community Safety for Seniors program that the Santa Maria Police Department was offering to Senior living communities in their area. We went to the Knollwood Community to share empowerment and safety tips in conjunction with the Police Department's Community Outreach to Seniors. It was fun, lively, well-received and informative! Thank you to our Coastal Self Defense supporters and donors to allow for us to reach out to Seniors beyond Santa Barbara!

We're breaking boards and breaking barriers. Coastal Self Defense Academy volunteer Teri McDuffie brought free self-defense classes to our students at our Santa Barbara center. Coastal Self Defense Academy empowers at-risk populations with valuable mental and physical strategies to stay safe while building self-reliance and self-esteem. BIA students at the Santa Barbara Center had an amazing time working with Teri and breaking these light boards at their last class. So honored to be asked to lead the Warm Up for today's Run, Walk & Roll Fundraiser event at Chase Palm Park this morning! Many enthusiastic members, staff, friends of Jodi House and Supporters all showed up to participate in this Annual Fundraiser event. I had a WONDERFUL time leading the stretch and Warm-up just before the Race/Walk! Thank you to Jodi House for Brain Injury Recovery for including me and trusting in my Self Defense Empowerment programs for the past 7 years!
