More than 150 people came together in Buellton for the first annual Santa Barbara County Construction Trades Apprenticeship Forum & Job Fair, including students from Carpinteria, Santa Barbara and Santa Maria schools.

The highlight was a panel of current apprentices who shared what it’s like to earn while you learn in the construction trades. Attendees also heard from State Treasurer Fiona Ma, County Superintendent Susan Salcido and Buellton Vice Mayor Carla Meade, and connected with trade, workforce and education partners at the job fair.

SBCEO was glad to take part alongside Central Coast Construction Trades, local trade unions, the Santa Barbara County Workforce Development Board, Allan Hancock College, Goodwill Industries and other partners who made the event possible.
