Hello Everyone!

UCSB’s Southeast Asian Union Club (SEA-U). This year, we will be hosting the 5th Annual Southeast Asian Reaffirming Cultural Heritage (SEARCH) program since 2019.

What is SEARCH?
SEARCH (Southeast Asians Reaffirming Cultural Heritage) is the Southeast Asian Union’s annual higher education youth conference for underprivileged high school students within Southern California and the only outreach program at UCSB targeting all Southeast Asian groups. These backgrounds include Cambodian, Lao, Hmong, Vietnamese, Filipino, Burmese, Thai, and more. In our FREE 1-day program, participants explore routes to higher education, Southeast Asian identity and community issues, and wellness resources through interactive workshops and activities that strengthen our understanding of our history and community at the University of California, Santa Barbara college campus.

Who can apply?
Our application is open to all current high schools standing student located in Southern California. Although our club is centered around Southeast Asians, we welcome any and all student with different ethnic background.

We have a sharp deadline of Friday, March 22nd at 11:59pm.

Hello Everyone! This is UCSB's Southeast Asian Union's SEARCH Page!

The purpose of Southeast Asian Union is to promote cultural awareness of the Southeast Asian community and to provide a safe and open space for students to express themselves in. We aim to bring together the Southeast Asian community of UCSB by hosting workshops on cultural issues and celebrating our uniqueness. Staff members assume the responsibility of helping SEA-U continue its purpose of empowering and educating the Southeast Asian community.
