If you're downtown this week, stop by to see the piano in front of the New Vic Theater, painted by alumni Lily '25 and Story '25.

When Lily and Story presented their finished product, painted for Pianos on State, Santa Barbara, they traced their artistic collaboration back to an SBMS art class with Sophie. We love to see this creative partnership enduring!

The piano will be on display through October 19. Stop by, take a look, and play a tune!

Today we're throwing it back to Concentric Circles, a fall 2003 trip to Lake San Antonio.

Biking, kayaking, campfires, playing in the mud, plenty of silliness, and good friends – a classic SBMS trip recipe.

Keep an eye out for the launch of SBMS's new alumni portal later this year, where you'll be able to browse these photos — and thousands more — from our photo archives.

A big thank you to Kevin Weichbrod ’98 for joining us at last week’s Friday Town Meeting and sharing his post-SBMS journey with our students!

The kids were fascinated to hear about Kevin’s career as a Santa Barbara Deputy District Attorney, as evidenced by the roomful of hands that shot up with questions when he finished speaking.

Reflecting on his own winding path to becoming an attorney, Kevin encouraged the audience to “go where the wind takes you” and to “seize every opportunity… Life will throw you curveballs, but just go with an open heart.”

Thank you, Kevin, for coming back to campus to share your wisdom and experience with the next generation!

Here's to some of the faces that make us smile when we look back over old trip photos!

These snapshots are from Avenue of the Giants in 1987.

SBMS is back in session, and so is Throwback Thursday!

Back in 1995, Eric Ramirez earned the nickname "Tumbleweed" after getting blown over dozens of times by the blustery wind while crossing California. But he kept going! And when he finally made it to camp, with Whit by his side, he was greeted with cheers and celebration from his classmates.

If that isn’t the spirit of SBMS, we don’t know what is.

Perseverance, encouragement, and classmates ready to celebrate when you finally make it there.

Here’s to the memories, the friendships, and the adventures that make SBMS so special.
