CrossnoKaye (co-founded by Bryan Kaye), a startup deploying innovative AI-based systems to boost efficiency throughout the heavy industry space, fosters a collaborative partnership with UCSB’s MTM program through its site visit program, recruiter insights panels, and more.

With new workshops, site visits, and networking opportunities already underway, the MTM program is off to a strong start for the 2026-2027 school year. But the program is already looking ahead to its next cohort of future tech leaders: last Friday, the department welcomed its new Engineering + Technology Management (E+TM) and HumTech Fellows to its Executive Learning Center to celebrate the launch of this year’s programs.

“It’s exciting to see this Fellows program grow from our inaugural cohort of eight last year to 20 Fellows this year,” says MTM Executive Director Erin Nerstad. “This is a very interdisciplinary group with diverse interests and backgrounds, which creates exactly the type of learning environment we foster in MTM.”

Equipping students with the skills to build with AI is essential for the future of technology and business.

Students in UCSB’s Master of Technology Management program recently put those skills into practice during an intensive AI workshop: using tools such as Cursor, Grok, GitHub, Vercel, and APIs, they developed a range of practical websites and apps to add to their portfolio.

Students presented their prototypes to their cohort, competed for prizes, and celebrated the top projects.
