At Nationals in Salt Lake City last weekend, we connected with Soo Bahk Do family from all over the U.S. and celebrated our connections! Soo Bahk!

It’s been a week since the 2026 National Festival wrapped here in Salt Lake City, and we’re still thinking about it.
Hosting this event was one of the proudest moments in WMAA’s history. People traveled from all over the country to be part of it, and for three days, this community came together to train, compete, teach, and celebrate 51 years of Moo Duk Kwan in the United States.
This year’s theme was Elevate, and when we look at this photo, that’s exactly what we see. Every person in this picture played a part in lifting this art a little higher, whether they were on the competition floor, teaching a seminar, judging a match, or simply cheering from the sideline.
Thank you to everyone who made the trip, and thank you to everyone who helped us host it. It was an honor to welcome you to Salt Lake City.
We’re already looking forward to what comes next.

Words cannot thank our Assistant Executive Administrator, Celia Van Duyne, who has tirelessly and professionally taken such great care of us for 37 years 🙏🙏🙏💪💪💪 Her love and dedication to the MDK, our KJN and each one of us will be missed and treasured.

A special day together to celebrate Master Bassin's, Master FIedtkou's promotions to 5th Dan and Miller SBN's promotion to 6th Dan! Master Fiedtkou celebrated by serenading us all with his musical heart and soul! WE are feeling pretty lucky and blessed to have each other and celebrations of each other too! 🥳🥳🥳
