How it started. How it’s going. And where we’re headed next.

It’s been a couple of weeks since we wrapped up another Sports Industry Academy Summer Program and I’ve had some time to reflect on the journey.

What started as a vision to expand access and opportunity in the business of sports has grown into something far greater than I could have imagined.

I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve built, the scholars we’ve supported, the relationships we’ve created, and the community of executives, educators, partners, parents, and friends who continue to believe in the mission.

But growth also requires evolution.

As I step into a new chapter, I’ve been thinking deeply about how we can build on this foundation, expand our impact, and create even more opportunities at the intersection of education, sports, culture, innovation, and career development.

The mission is not changing. The vision is getting bigger!

I’m excited about what’s ahead and look forward to sharing more soon.

Deadline Approaching — Limited Spots Remaining

Year 12 of the Sports Industry Academy is loading — and the June 1 application deadline is quickly approaching.

The Sports Industry Academy 2026 Summer Program returns to:

UC Santa Barbara
July 12–17, 2026

Over the past 12 years, SIA has:

• Served 350+ scholars
• Achieved 80% acceptance to 4-year colleges
• Maintained a 100% transfer rate for California Community College participants
• Supported alumni outcomes at UCLA, Stanford, USC, UC Berkeley, Howard, Michigan, Oregon, San Diego State, and more
• Helped 40%+ of graduates secure opportunities in the sports industry

SIA succeeds by supporting college access and transfer pathways, exposing students to careers across the sports ecosystem, connecting scholars with industry leaders and mentors, and creating a pipeline from aspiration to opportunity.
