The UCSB Community Labor Project invites applications for a Lecturer in Labor Studies. Responsibilities include teaching core courses for the Minor in Labor Studies, which is administered by the History Department and interdisciplinary in scope. Applicants from a wide range of disciplines in the Humanities, Social Sciences and related fields are welcome. The University is especially interested in candidates who can contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community through research, teaching, and service as appropriate to the position.

Sarah Dunne, a doctoral candidate in the History Department, will be sharing portions of her dissertation research in a talk titled "Beyond Bookselling: How Q***r Bookstores Shaped the Gay Liberation Movement."

On Monday, February 12, at 4 pm in HSSB 6020 (McCune Room), Professor Elizabeth McGuire of California State University, East Bay, will deliver a talk titled, "Mystery Children: The Stasova International Children’s Home During Stalin’s Purge." Alison Rose Jefferson, who received her History Ph.D. from UCSB, will be giving a History Associates talk titled "Illuminating Black California: Stories from the Jim Crow Era." The talk will be held this Thursday at 5:30pm at the Santa Barbara Trust for Historic Preservation.
